Senior Product Owner – Special Memberships opportunity – leading Social networking company.

KB Europe is currently advising on an opening for a Senior Product Owner – Special Memberships. Our client is one of Europe’s most progressive companies specializing in Social and Business networking. The position is based at my client’s headquarters in Hamburg, Germany.

Summary of Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the cross-functional team consisting of frontend and backend engineers, User Experience, Project Manager and QA, and take responsibility for the newly created unit “Special Memberships” from a product and business perspective (Product Owner as defined by SCRUM)
• Develop the product & business strategy for “Special Memberships” based on member needs
• Determine requirements and create product concepts, designs, and specifications in order to implement the strategy; validate concepts and designs through prototyping and checking them against user feedback
• Execute the product strategy, drive implementation of product concepts, and coordinate with other departments
• Report to the Vice President Vertical Business & Paid Memberships

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• At least 5 years of professional online experience with a sound technical background and understanding
• Product management experience in an online environment and excellent user experience skills
• Very good analytical skills in order to map complex technical processes and requirements in a structured manner
• Ideally with experience in working within agile development teams
• Sound communication skills coupled with an excellent command of English

Product Owner – Social Advertising – location, Hamburg.

KB Europe is advising on a position for a Product Owner – Social Advertising, for a client of ours located in Hamburg, Germany. Our client is one of Europe’s most progressive companies specializing in Social and Business networking.

Summary of Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement a B2B product strategy for all of the Advertising products on the my clients platform with a focus on social advertising and self-booking
• Get involved in overarching frontend information architecture in order to integrate Advertising products aimed at B2C users
• Identify requirements and develop product concepts and specifications in order to implement the product strategy; Use customer feedback and prototyping to check these concepts
• Work closely with the core product team and other product owners
• Interface with other departments such as Advertising & Partnerships, User Experience, and Engineering
• Assume responsibility for the commercial success of your advertising products and use the Scrum process to coordinate with product owners during the implementation phase
• Introduce new product fields by driving innovation within the various advertising types and advertising platform based on a scalable backend and help to set up cooperation’s

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• At least 3 years of professional online experience with an excellent technical background
• Online product management experience, ideally in online marketing
• You are able to work with the User Experience and Engineering departments
• Excellent analytical skills aimed at identifying requirements in a structured way within the given technical parameters
• Strong communication skills and proven cross-functional skills combined with an excellent command of English
• Experience working within agile development teams would be advantageous

Front End Engineer needed by leading social networking company – location: Barcelona. Spain

Frontend Engineer – Spain

Summary of Key Responsibilities:

•Programming of modern Web 2.0 frontends using JavaScript and AJAX
•Implementing new features, maintaining and updating our platform within the context of Hamburg-based projects
•Assurance of cross-browser compatibility

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

•Experience of working in small, close-knit teams deploying agile methodologies
•Excellent JavaScript skills
•Advanced knowledge of DOM Manipulation and AJAX
•Familiarity with frameworks such as Prototype or jQuery

Summary of Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the cross-functional discovery team consisting of User Experience Lead, Project Management, Monetization Management, and Technology Lead.
• Assume responsibility for the concretization of my clients Product Strategy, and at the same time define and prioritize the company backlog of top-level projects together with the other Product Owners and the Management
• Support the development of the product and business strategy
• Understand top-level user needs and turn them into top-level product concepts, designs, etc. in order to implement the strategy; validate concepts and designs through prototyping and check them against user feedback. Identify dependencies between the multiple agile teams.
• Implement the product strategy together with the peer Product Owners, drive implementation of product concepts, and coordinate with other departments
• Report to the Vice President Product Management

Senior Database Administrator (DBA) – Leading Social Networking site: Location: HAMBURG

KB Europe is currently advising on an opening for a Senior DBA. Our client is one of Europe’s most progressive companies specializing in Social and Business networking. The position is based at my client’s European Headquarters in Hamburg, Germany.

(Senior) Database Administrator

Summary of Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure availability of the (No)SQL databases such as MySQL, Oracle 11g, MongoDB
• Manage and monitor our database systems
• Design, document and implement monitoring improvements, performance optimizations, and backup and disaster recovery strategies
• Work closely with software architects to ensure top database performance
• Write scripts in Perl and on Shell
• Support colleagues carrying out general administrative tasks within Linux

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Several years of experience (at least seven years for the senior position) in database server administration, in particular MySQL running on Linux
• UNIX/Linux system administration experience
• Extensive knowledge in terms of supporting large, distributed web architectures
• Able to monitor Linux and optimize performance when impacting database operations
• Networking skills and able to work with centralized storage solutions
• Excellent written and spoken English and German
• Very good analytical skills
• Happy to tackle challenges as part of a team
• Experience in database virtualization using VMware would be advantageous
