Senior Software Developer (Web): location – Leeds (UK)

KB Europe is currently looking for a Senior Software Developer (Web) to work for one of our clients. The client based in Leeds, is the global leader in their specialist field, working across 77 countries, and one of the UK’s most progressive companies.

The position has come about due to significant expansion of my client’s software development team. The successful applicant will join a busy systems development department working on both internal and client-facing systems.
Reporting to the Systems Development Manager the successful applicant will be involved in the design and development of Web applications.

Senior Software Developer (Web) – based Leeds

This is a technical hands-on role:

• Design and develop Web applications
• Program software to agreed functional and technical specifications
• Development-based unit testing of produced software
• Maintenance of existing systems and fix software quality issues
• Communicate status of development tasks as required
• Mentor and review development team members

Required skills and experience:

• 3+ years Web development experience in C# and ASP.Net, (2008)
• 2+ years SQL skills, preferably MS SQL-Server 2005/8 (inc. T-SQL)
• Exposure to new technology – e.g. ASP.Net MVC, Entity Framework, WCF
• Experience of working in a source code controlled environment
• Production of quality code to specification and deadlines
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages

Desirable skills and experience:

• Experience of working with HTML, XHTML, XML, XSLT, JAVA
• Willingness to work towards Microsoft certification
• Awareness of Translation industry and practices
